REU students attend "Reverse engineer the brain" seminar
The second research talk of the REU program seminar series was provided by two Biomedical Engineering doctoral students, Ms. Ashley Williams and Ms. Brinnae Bent. Both students are members of Prof. Jonathan Viventi's research group. They work on innovations in flexible electronics in neuroscience. Their research aims at creating new tools for neuroscience research and technology to diagnose and treat neurological disorders, such as epilepsy.
In addition to discussing their research projects, Ashley and Brinnae opened the floor for discussions about graduate school. The REU students were able to ask about applying to graduate schools, interviews, school visits, defining research projects, balancing workloads, life as a graduate student, etc.
